The Peugeot Moovie is a an agile and environmentally-friendly city car that was built as part of the anual Peugeot design contest. Designed by Portuguese designer, André Costa, who won the competition with his project “the Moovie” it was unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt Motorshow.

The Moovie is a small 2 seater car that may be common place around the year 2020. it has an unique feature where the steering is acheived by turning the large rear wheels in opporsite directions to each other, kind of like a wheel chair. the front wheels are only there to stabalise the front of the car while the rear wheels have no central hub and are so huge that entry and exit to the cockpit is via the central part of the wheels.

It is expected a car like this would have two motors that power each wheel from an electric or fuel cell power source.  3,800 projects were registered on the www.peugeot-concours-design.com but only the winning entry made it to concept production stage. The Moovie was built under the supervision of the Peugeot Style Centre, according to criteria normally used for the construction of vehicles intended for a Motor Show.  Three months’ work was required, from the digitization phase to the final model exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
