Swift announced CARSguide car of the year

The new Suzuki Swift has just been announced best car of 2005 by CARSguide Australia. Cars Guide is part of News Limited and the award was picked from the votes of motoring editors of CARSguide newspapers around Australia. They were asked to rate their top six cars of 2005 with the swift coming out on top.

The Peugeot Moovie is a an agile and environmentally-friendly city car that was built as part of the anual Peugeot design contest. Designed by Portuguese designer, André Costa, who won the competition with his project “the Moovie” it was unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt Motorshow.

Hillman Imp

The Hillman Imp was produced from 1963 to 1976, the Imp was Hillman’s attempt to produce a car to compeat with the highly successful Mini. The Imp was a huge gamble for for the Rootes Group (the owners of Hillman) as the introduction of the Imp saw the need for a new factory to be built in Scotland and also a huge cost in developing the rear engine car.

Suzuki Concept S2

Suzuki have always had a good history with producing great looking concept cars that sometimes also make it to production. The S2 displayed in 2004 picks up where 2003’s concept S left off. Built as a study model for a new small car for the next generation compact passenger vehicle, the Concept S2 has a definite fun and youthful feel about it.

Suzuki Cappuccino

The Suzuki Cappuccino was a small 3 cyl 660cc convertible that was sold in Japan between 1991 and 1997. Featuring an all aluminium body it weighed only 720 Kg, with its double overhead cam engine matched to a intercooled turbo the tiny car was able to put out 47kw.
